Teacher Edivaldo Domingues Velini

He graduated in Agronomic Engineering from FCAV/UNESP in 1983. He obtained the master's and doctoral degrees in the program of Vegetal Production also by FCAV / UNESP in 1989 and 1995. The dissertation and thesis were developed in the topics of interference and experimental methods, respectively.

He specialized in the analysis of defensive waste by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in 1988. He received a postdoctoral degree in allelopathy in 1995 from the Japan International Research Center for Agricultural Sciences - JIRCAS - Japan. With the support of Fapesp, he conducted a post-doctoral internship at the Natural Products Utilization Research Unit - NPURU - USDA in Oxford, Mississippi in 2007/2008 in metabolic route control and developed a specific project in the control of lignin synthesis.

He is a professor at FCA / UNESP - Botucatu since 1985 working in the area of Damage Plants and Control Methods. He has been Professor Titular since 2014.

Along with FEPAF - Foundation for Agricultural and Forestry Studies and Research, he was Director from 1996 to 2000, Director President from 2002 to 2008 and Chairman of the Board of Trustees from 2009 to 2013. Director of FCA / UNESP - Botucatu from 2009-2013, having as main action the proposal in 2009 and approval in 2011 of the Bachelor's Course in Bioprocess Engineering and Biotechnology. President of FUNDUNESP - Foundation for the Development of UNESP from 01/2013 to 01/2017.

He was one of the co-founders of the Prospecta - Botucatu Technological Incubator and the Botucato Technological Park, which has the emphasis: Biotechnology and Bioprocesses.

He was appointed president of the CTNBio - National Technical Commission for Biosafety, for the period from 04 2014 to 04 2018.

It operates in the area of Pest Plants and Control Methods having as its main research lines: integrated management of pests in agricultural and non-agricultural areas; monitoring and handling of aquatic plants; development of experimental methods and sampling; study of the dynamics of herbicides in the environment and in plants, rationalization of the use and reduction of the risks associated with herbs; allelopathy.
