He holds a degree in Agronomy from Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho State University (1987), a master's degree in agronomy (Agriculture) from the Paulista Julio de Mezquita Philos State University (1992) and a doctorate in agriculture from the State University of Paulista Julius of Mesquitas Filho (1996). Postdoc in Sugar Cane Physiology and Improvement from Texas A & M University (2006-2007). Worked on Copersucing with sugarcane enhancement (1988-1990). He was a scientific researcher at the Agronomic Institute of Campinas (1994-2002), and worked in the Improvement Program of the Centre of Cana - IAC. He was a scientific researcher at the Paulista Agência de Tecnologia dos Agronegócios - APTA (2002-2011), where he worked with Improvement and Physiology of the sugarcane.

It belongs to the editorial board of the magazines STAB Sugar Alcohol and by-products, Scientific, and Agriculture. He is an Ad-Hoc revisor of several national and international journals.

He is an associate professor 5.3, teaches courses in undergraduate and graduate studies, and is a Master and Doctoral Counselor, in the area of concentration Agriculture, of the Faculty of Agronomic Sciences/UNESP and has experience in the field of Agronomie, with emphasis on Ecophysiology of Agricultural Production, acting mainly in the following topics: Sugar cane, Saccharum spp., Mandioca, Manihot sculenta Crantz, Soya, Glycine max Merrill, Corn, Zea mays L., Beans, Phaseolus vulgaris L., productivity, physiology of agricultural production, water deficiency, bioinput, regulators and plant bio-stimulants.
