Teacher Rogério Peres Soratto

Graduated in Agronomy (1999), having completed the course with the best performance in the class, and Master in Agronomia - Production Systems (2002), by the Faculty of Engineering of the Paulista State University "Júlio de Mesquita Filho" (UNESP), campus of Ilha Solteira. Doctorate in Agronomy-Agriculture (2005) and freelance in Agriculture (2011), by the Faculty of Agronomic Sciences (FCA) of UNESP, Botucatu campus.

Visiting Scholar at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA (2017-2018). He was Coordinator of the Postgraduate Programme in Agronomy-Agriculture (2010-2013) and Supervisor of the Farms of Teaching, Research and Extension (2013-2017) of FCA/UNESP, Botucatu campus.

He is Professor of the Department of Plant Production at FCA and also Associate Researcher (currently acting as Executive Coordinator) at the Centre for Tropical Roots and Starches (CERAT) at UNESP. He has research in collaboration with researchers from Chile, the United States and Kenya.

He has published more than 240 scientific papers in indexed national and international journals [cited 5892 more times according to Google Scholar (index h: 41), 2025 more than according to the Web of Science (indexh: 24) and 2420 more than the Scopus (index H: 26), in January 2023]. He has published/edited 7 books and is the author of 26 chapters.

He has guided 55 dissertations/theses (29 masters and 26 doctorates) and currently guides/supervises several students of scientific initiation, master's and doctoral degrees. He is Associate Editor of Agronomy Journal (Online ISSN:1435-0645).

It operates in the areas of management and cultivation, soil fertility management and fertilization and mineral nutrition of crops in agricultural production systems. It carries out research with large crops, especially potatoes, coffee, beans and alternative oily crops (mamona, crambe and cardamom), developing knowledge and technologies to make agriculture more efficient and sustainable.
